Hey guys I am here to make known of a possible scam.

The post has now been flagged but I was almost scammed though I am unsure if it is an actual scam
but my gut says this is 100% a fraudster.

The ad was listed as "make money by receiving items at home or work" Details of the post are as follows.

Earn Up to $300 a MONTH.

I have a small drop shipping company. I get discounts to ship to customers. You can make up to $300 monthly by just receiving mail to your house. If I use my address then I don't get the discount because I am registered in the system as a supplier.

You can make up to $300 a month easily by just receiving mail to your house.

The items are delivered via UPS only. So you must be able to receive the packages either in the morning or afternoon.

If you live in a home then UPS can leave the items without someone having to be home.

No scam, No illegal activity here. Just a money opportunity.

If you're serious and need the money great.

If you are interested call me or text at If I receive a miss call I will call you back.

But the basics of it is as follow;

I get your address.

I ship you products.

I pick up the products and provide you money for the packages depending on the amount of items I pick up.

If you don't send a number in the email I will not reply back. I will only call you to confirm the business details.

That was the AD listed on CL. I then contacted the number that was listed and spoke to some guy
who seemed quite intelligent also had an american accent to him seemed all around legit and real.

Told me the reason he was unable to do it
as well as if everything goes well I could also become a driver the person who goes and pickup the package
from the one who uses their address to drop ship and make a few more bucks. I found it odd his posts says he has a company yes there is no proof of it, no website nothing at all, told me he is 100% legit and the package will include electronics and I can open the package infront of the pick up guy to make sure he is legit and sometimes he may "miss spell" my name on purpose which seemed weird. Told me when he had a package he would let me know ahead of time. All of a sudden sometime later I receive a package with miss spelling of my name I signed for it thinking it was a surprise present and came it find out it was NOT it was from him.

He contacted me 2 hours after I signed and I asked why would he send a package without my knowledge his response was he forgot and he was going to. ...Red FLAG.

Long story short It seemed fishy and I did some googling and came up with the known scam of drop shipping
but this guys scam seem a bit different from the usual but still fishy. I told him I would not be giving him
this package and he cannot come and pick it up because I feel uneasy and maybe someone hard drive was stolen and I would be held accountable for the loss.

He claimed I was wrong and he is real and what more proof do I want not knowing how this works I stopped responding and searched the company listed and I got a number for the supervisor or the warehouse. when the guy insisted that my phone was not working and he could not hear me I called from my cell and he did the same so I am aware he was most likely lying.

I then contacted the guy from CL and told him I will need a shipping label to return since the company there cannot here me he tells me he can send one or I can dispose of the package whichever I choose. I
realized this guy was been tricking me.

I contacted ups and had a manager call me and I explain the situation I was told he is writing a report
and he feels as though this is a fraudulent package. He says it is Ok for me to keep the package since it is fraudulent and I would not be charged for the contents but advised me to not use the hard drive as it could contain a virus.

My question is because I am not a scam watcher. How exactly does these types of scam work! Oh! and by the
way this is a heads up for anyone keep an eye out for "drop shipping work from home" it was more than likely
a scam! Cheers to all you scam busters
