Have fax number from phishing-car scammer!! How tell police?

Hi, I'm a Spanish individual being scammed by someone in the UK who is faking a car sell.

Could he/she be catched by the police if they go to the fax number to get the supposedly money transfer receipt I'm about to send?

The number is +44 203 514 2685

I know it's scam, I'm just trying to keep their dirty hands busy!

Only wondering if there's any way to catch them when trying to receive the fax (I've told them I've got no scanner, smartphone, nor digital cam, so that's my only way to send them the transfer "receipt").

As far as the only "real" thing we've got from them is that fax number, I'd like to know if the number gives you any clue.

Here are the mails in reverse order:

Como he explicado:- voy a pagar por los gastos de envio. Lo vas a recibir en 2-3 dias con un camion directamente a su direccion;
- el coche se viene asegurada y con toda la documentacion, la factura, orden de transporte, contracto de venta firmado de mi parte y todo lo demas;
- despues, vas a tener un plazo de 2 dias de prueba. En este periodo lo puedes llevar a cualquier taller y comprobar el estado;

The fax will most likely be a VoIP one, not a physical fax machine and the fax will just go to an email address.

There is nothing for the police can do and even if there was, they are not going to just drop everything and investigate this just because you tell them to.

If you are using your real life email address, then the best thing to do is just stop communicating with them - don't tell them you know it is a scam, leave them wondering what happened.

The fact is, the # might have been ported to a VOIP, or cell phone #. It could be a # that forwards to a different phone completely. Or it may even be someone who is a "friend" of this scammer, and knows nothing of the scam itself. That is another reason the police need to be notified. They do the investigations, we can only report stuff to them.

Voxbone SA is a VoIP and FaxtoEmail provider - the fax could be delivered absolutely anywhere in the world either to a physical machine or to an email in box.

Now they're trying to get the Western Union transaction through what seems to be a fake website:

So it looks like these people are really a well organized criminal group.

The registrant details will be fake - either totally made up or perhaps the details of a previous victim.

Analizando la gramática, me parece que hay a menos dos estafadores, uno que conoce el español mejor que el otro. No me parece que el texto fuese compuesto en inglés y traducido por ordenador en español. Hay una característica que puede indicar que son africanos del oeste, pero como no hay mucha parte del África donde el español se habla, no estoy seguro. El que conoce peor el español comete una falta consistente de gramática, no fonética; no es una falta ortográfica por comer la ese.

It looks to me, analyzing the grammar, that there are at least two scammers, one who knows Spanish better than the other. It doesn't look like the text was composed in English and translated by computer to Spanish. There is a characteristic which may indicate that they are West Africans, but as Spanish isn't spoken in much of Africa, I'm not sure. The one who knows Spanish worse makes a consistent grammatical, not phonetic, error; he isn't swallowing his s's and misspelling accordingly.
