Beware of the following email [email protected]

wanted to buy my ipad from kijiji. Here is what caught my eye...I google the address

I live and work in Edmonton so i don't have time to meet up or do the shipping my self due to my work engagement so i will be paying for the shipping cost but i'm buying the item for my son in west Africa so here is the address item:

I just check the shipping cost on online and it will cost 90 international air parcel post so you can add 90 and send me your paypal money request to this email [email protected]

For those who don't understand this particular scam: the intent is to steal your item, plain and simple.

The scammer asked for a paypal address so that he could send a fake paypal email that states that payment has been made, but is on hold until you provide proof of shipment of your item. In reality, paypal does not do this.

The email is fake and the scammer has made no payment. If you send the item, you will soon discover that, and you will have no way to trace him (he is using fake information) or recall the shipment. Once it leaves the country, there is generally no way to pull it back, and the police in Nigeria aren't going to track him down for you (and he may very well have used a fake name there too.)

Some scammers get extra greedy, and they send additional fake emails claiming you have to wire cash for a tax or fee of some kind, in an attempt to steal both your item and your cash.

Thanks for Posting this. I put up my camera for sale and I got an email reply from [email protected] wondering if its still available. when I said that it was he replied with this:

That reply was sent from [email protected]. So I said that I would do a Paypal Money Request. When I seen the second email address I was very skeptical. There was no way I was sending my product until i have the money in my Bank account. So thats what prompted me to search out his email. I asked for his proper email and he hasn't responded back.

I had a tablet for sale on KIJII and Craigslist and received a response from Aaron Milonas...first response from [email protected] , later responses from [email protected]

Something sounded hokey, so I Googled his email address which took me to these postings. I wrote back, telling him about finding him as a scammer and heard nothing after that.

In the future we ask that you do not inform the scammer that you know he is scamming or found the information somewhere. Just ignore the scammer and move on.

When you tell the scammer you googled his information and found out he is scamming he will change his fake information and your warning will not be good to anyone else.

Like for example you found him here with a search. It will take him about 5 minutes to get a new free email address and fake name. Now you nor anyone else will find him until a victim reports him.
