I have 2 cars for sale on the carsguide.com website.
First scam attempt using similar explanation as detailed above was from one

Paul Mangion [[email protected]].

I thought I had got shot of all this after emailing him a page from PayPal highlighting the problem, but now I'm getting the same approach from one

John Brad [[email protected]]

After luring a response from me to his website with a text message:

'I will like to know if your car is still available and what is the firm price, get back to me on ([email protected] for easier contact',

I got his follow-up,
Thanks for the response, i would have loved to call you directly but due to the nature of my work we do not have access to phone at the moment, which is why I contacted you with internet messaging facility.

Am buying this for my son for his 21st birthday. He lives in Darwin presently so is going to be shipped to Darwin after have sorted out with the payment, i want to be sure if it is still in good condition ,i will not be able to come for inspection now all i really need from you is the exact details of the car. I don't mind adding an extra $300.00 for you just to take down the posting.

Due to the nature of my work i am a very busy man working all day,am a sailor am presently on-board, i don't have access to my bank account online as am not with my credit card details here but i have my ANZ bank account link up with my PayPal account so I will be paying you through PayPal to your nominated bank account or better still is if you have a PayPal account ,please get back to me with your BSB and account details or PayPal account so i can proceed with the payment and contact the courier agent who will come to pick it up and deliver it in NT for my son .Await your reply .

Regards,
John.

Same old, same old. Not sure if it is a different operator than 'Paul Mangion'. Seems from other reports on this website that the same scam, with slight variations, emerges from many different email addresses.
I won't be responding to this!

I received exactly the same set of txt and emails from the same user today.

You can report it here like dogwalker did to help bring awareness and warn others.

Just make sure you post the text numbers, emails and email addresses.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

I have reported this to the ACCC and I have given them the email addresses used for the initial contact - in my case it was Peter Clinton: [email protected] and also the fake email address that they used for the Paypal email. Yes, report them!
