I would like to inform you of a significant fraud which is being perpetrated against foreigners trying to buy motorhomes in Germany.
Here is an interesting story for you. We are both expat British but living in New Zealand. We recently contacted Dumo Emmerich in Germany regarding sunlight T67’s which they had on sale. We wanted to buy a vehicle in preparation for a three year trip around Europe. We were directed to them via AUTOLINE. On this web site they had brand new Sunlight T67’s for sale at about 40,000 Euros.
http://autoline.info/sf/camper-motor-ho ... 06600.html There is no indication on this web site that sales tax is excluded in the sales price or that the site is exclusive to exporters and foreign buyers only. When I explained that we wanted to buy and register the motorhome in Germany the sales person immediately said there is an additional 19% sales tax to be added to the price (about 8,000 Euros). So they lure you to their home site with apparently low prices and then try to whack you with a huge tax charge from nowhere. I think this is a “bait and switch” fraud (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bait-and-switch) designed to significantly increase the price of vehicles which are being advertised which already appear to have sales tax included in their price. So foreign buyers BEWARE of doing business with organisations on AUTOLINE and Dumo Reisemobile in particular. This has already cost me 1000 Euros to find out what is happening here and they refuse to return the money.
I saw a motorhome advertised on the caravan club website and thought it looked a good buy. I sent an email to the owner ( who turned out to be an Amy Sheppard) and below is the email reply she sent me. I was suspicious of the price and I googled her name and that is how I found this site. The email was only sent to me today 1/12/14. Obviously this person is still trying to rort the public and everyone needs to be aware.

Hello, I still got it and all I can say is that this is a marvelous van.
This van has a full service history and all documentation is present and in my name. It has been stored in undercover storage from new so the exterior is perfect very low miles. The final price is not negotiable: £14000. My husband died 2 months ago and I was left with it but I don`t even have a drivers license. If you agree I can send you the link to my private auction on eBay so you can buy it from there since I all ready had a buyer last week who came up with some fake notes. I don`t really trust someone else to come around my house. Please note that you will be able to check directly on ebay the registration and all the information about it because they did a HPI check(it does not have any outstanding finance). As soon as you will confirm the payment to eBay, I will proceed with the delivery without any additional costs for you. You will receive the van with all the documents. As you know eBay is the best company of online transactions. If you are indeed interested in buying it and have the funds, I will list it on eBay, as I have a 100% positive feedback with them.
Please let me know your decision.
Thank you
