I found a lovely lookin Audi on autotrader from a private seller in Finland...I Googled his name and Energy Recovery solutions and this website popped up. Its now made me extremely sceptical of it all now havin read some posts relatin to my situation, the email i received from this person was almost word for word of what i've just read on here...his name is Erkki Penttinin, does this name ring any bells for anyone and is he a con man? Thank goodness no money has been exchanged! This website is great an glad i found it

If the Audi is located abroad - it's a scam and you should walk away.

I've been recording these scams on Autotrader UK for weeks, maybe months. Until very recently the scammers have been posting up to 100 fraudulent adverts a day which means that any bargain you find is invariably a scam because the scammer will undercut any honest seller.

I print this in big red letters

You should never ever under any circumstances send any money to buy a car that you haven't seen and inspected.

The scammer has many plausible reasons why you cant see the car and they're all lies. If he's offering to use a fictional escrow company that will act as intermediary, then he's lying.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
