Welcome to Scamwarners flowerbedhead42.

Be cautious. Just because you can download it from Apple doesn't mean they produced it or even take any responsibility as to whether or not it works. I've even heard of malicious applications being downloaded, not that I'm saying this is, but the crucial thing is who is behind it and how they know who's selling fakes, or selling responsibly. Anyone doing that would have to have a major commercial/web presence.

I'll scratch a little deeper but facts aren't easy to find.

A. the youVerify App will guide you through what photos to take of your product.
B. the youVerify Report URL that we send you will show you a comparison of your product next to a genuine product so that you can decide yourself if the product is genuine.
...........................
We (as youVerify) do not authenticate the product itself, we give consumers the tools to be able to do that for themselves.

I don't see the point. It's only a bad thing if you misunderstand what the app is doing.

Of course, comparing one photo with another doesn't achieve anything. It's what you get in the post that matters. Most scammers we see don't have any problem copying photos off the internet and the app won't reveal anything. The only way to protect yourself is to buy from respected and trusted retailers online, in which case the app is unnecessary. The app won't protect you if you don't.

Also the proposition that you having compared it with a photo of a real item, acts in any way as a form of selling authentication is eccentric, to be polite.

It also appears that the creators of the YouVerify app like to use forum spamming as a means of marketing their pointless app - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=81279&p=188645#p188645

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

For posterity, here is flowerbedhead42's original post regarding the YouVerify app before they deleted it (to try and hide the fact they were spamming numerous websites with the same post).

flowerbedhead42 wrote:Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has used this app? On their website it says you generate a report for your product so the buyer can work out whether what your selling is legit. Has anyone had any success in terms of using it to sell? I've got some uggs but worried about getting less because people think they're fake as they can't actually see them in person.

A little link for google to find you-verify.com - I wouldn't advise visiting the site as my network administrators deem it an "undesirable site".

I don't think that flowerbedhead42 understood that his follow up post actually represented unintended negative comment on the application.

If the application performs a useful function then it shouldn't need the affirmation of a fourth party, which isn't something the forum does anyway.

Spammers tend to be rather low on the IQ scale - who in their right mind would work for peanuts copying and pasting the same thing on mutiple websites.
