Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I've just been scammed by this Chinese online seller of electronic goods.

On hindsight I should have known they are dodgy because the prices are too good to be true and my further research shows electronic goods in China are quite expensive.

Here is their modus operendi:

1. You order the goods from their site
2. They ask you to send the money (via Western Union)
3. You get informed there is problem (usually customs etc.)
4. Problem can be fixed for more money (another 10-20%)
5. After payment, there is yet another problem...
This will repeat until you realize that you got scammed like I found out, and they won't send you your money back.

Well here it is, June of 2015 and these guys at hk-eglobal and hkcreditcommerce are still at this scam. I wish I had found this site before I ordered some tools from them. Do not deal with them.

This site is solely a scam - they have no intention of ever sending you anything and are apparently still using the same scripts from 2013. Some 'sales manager' contacts you who confirms that they will ship for free as the ad says or refund your money and confirms these terms in writing - including DHL. Then suddenly she discovers she has made a mistake and will be punished by her fake boss for making an error and needs more money, and so on. Then she cannot refund your money, the package is being held by DHL (which DHL denies) and on and on it goes.

These guys have no intention of sending any product and I suspect they just copy ads from legitimate product sites because it is easier than writing their own. Their sole purpose is to scam buyers - in this case it was some relatively uncommon engraving tools for which you would not think they would bother scamming customers for - but then maybe everybody buying cameras may already have been scammed already so they have to move into obscure segments.

The site operates out Hong Kong but they are really in Henan province, where it seems in consultation with Chinese friends and authorities, they seem to be somewhat lawless and corrupt. A haven for scammers.

So watch out for anything like this:

hkcreditcommerce.com
hk-eglobal.com
The money was transferred to:
Bank of China Henan branch
Beneficiary : Li hang dong
Swift Code:BKCHCNBJ530
Bank Account:6217858000045650865
Country:China
Bankaddress :Number 866 changjiang road, nanyang ,henan CHINA

Various emails they use are:
[email protected]
[email protected]
The Sales Managers name is Joy (JieJie).

And phone numbers they use are:
+86 13949305590
:+86 18738778056

The consular office here is sympathetic but with 1.357 billion people in China it is very hard to catch them, especially when the authorities in Henan are potentially corrupt too.

So do not buy from this site, stay to e-commerce sites with known, credible guarantees. If you cannot buy from a well known site with guarantees then don't buy as you are simply donating money and encouraging scammers. Give the money to charity as that way you will be actually helping someone and you will get a tax receipt.
