Welcome to Scamwarners scwerscamer.

It's a very common scam and normally the message you receive that appears to have come from Paypal is 'spoofed', that is to say that it is a forgery that has been 'dressed' to appear to have come from Paypal but it hasn't.

You can only be sure that you have received the money if you log in to your Paypal account and check that the money is on your account. There is then always the risk that the money could be withdrawn, but that's a different issue.

The basis of this fraud is to send you a faked message from Paypal. Of course a seller should never have to send any money to a buyer, and when you're asked to send it by Western Union or Moneygram there is no doubt at all you're being scammed.

If you put something up for sale, you'll get these scam messages so the best thing you can do is learn how to recognise and ignore them. There's not much that can be done to stop them. They'll only stop when nobody takes any notice of them I regret to say.

CAR ADVERTS - If a car seller mentions escrow - he's scamming you Never ever for any reason pay anything until you have seen and inspected the vehicle
