Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I think I've complimented UK banks enough on their ability to satisfy the criminal demand for bank accounts to use in fraud. (Sarcasm  )

Let's now look at how the fraudsters seek to get their ads on sites like ebay - in this case.

Alarmingly this type of ad even appears on Gumtree, who are owned by the same people who own ebay, and this practice is against ebay Terms and Conditions, and is a clear means to get fraudulent ads on to ebay accounts with good feedback.

Of course, any ebay member accepting this offer won't get paid anything, and faces the real risk of losing their account forever and having to pay for any fraud performed by the scammer.

Other versions involve offering to pay people to post scam ads on Gumtree, presumably because scammers are lazy and would prefer others to do their dirty work. Of course it's a crime and scammers never pay anyone for anything.

Another example.

No mention is made of why the 'company' can't set up its own ebay, not that there is any good reason, unless they've been banned or intend to leave you facing customer reclaims.

Business Opportunity! eBay Sellers wanted! Zero cash outlay start-up
County Armagh

Contract type
Temporary
Business opportunity available for winter 2013 and possibly longer!

Ideal job for young people or students looking for an easy job.

We are a small wholesale business who wish to recruit a small amount of sellers to sell our products on internet auction sites, whatever site you choose is up to you.

The job does not require you to handle any products, and profits will be instant.

All goods will be handled by ourselves, and we will also dispatch the goods to your customers, as well as handle returns.

Here's how it will work:

You will register your selling platform with us, and we will give you a product to list (we don't need access to any of your accounts or financial details)

You create your online listing and start selling

When you sell a product and receive payment, you send the part of the money through to us (via paypal), and the customer address, we then dispatch the product to the customer.

This means that for every product you sell you get a certain amount of commission (which will be generous).

All products are genuine, not high value, traceable, and brand new.

We look forward from hearing from you.
