Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

Hi all,

And thanks to scamwarners. I became quite suspicious of this early on and so googled "gumtree scams" and found this site. Have looked through the posts and sure enough mine is a scam also, with many on here receiving the exact, word for word email reply I received back from my first email to the scammer.

So please add to your list: [email protected]

He was interested in my oven, wanted to send it overseas, couldn't view it etc but would send a carrier to collect and I would be paid via paypal.
...

You know the drill..... the English in the email was not good, and who would buy a near new high priced item without viewing it first????? That's when the alarm bells started ringing.

Be cautious people.... and keep posting scams on this site... it saved me from being scammed and will save many others too. Keep up the good work all you scam reporters. :=)

The paypal payment would have been fake from a fake paypal email address. No money would have been transferred into your Paypal account. The fake Paypal email is believable with phony screenshots. The best way to verify funds are in your paypal account is to log in directly without any links.

The scammer will make a fake over payment to you. He will later send an email from the fake paypal address telling you the funds are on hold until you pay the mover/shipper via Western Union or Money Gram.

Paypal hold is a lie. And he is setting you up for future western union payments to him / shipping agent.

Please note: You may receive more scam inquiries. The scammer will have the same basic tactic. Instead he wants to send you a fake check or Money Order
