Please beware of newest scammer

Hi, I just saved my son from being scammed. The person claimed to be away on business in Utah and have access only to send texts through the company's phone. The phone # listed is 657=201-7643. He asked for names and was given the name of Fiona Potter as the interested party and the pick up agent as Page Carsten at 8289 N Dort Hwy, Mount Morris, Michigan 48458. He was told by "Fiona" that she had no way of paying the agent as she could only receive Western Union payments. "Fiona" was sending an extra $1700. through PayPal and in turn my son was to Western Union or Money Gram the $1700. to "Page"! NOT!!! He had placed an ad on Craigslist to sell his car.

Yes, your son was about to be scammed by 6572017643. The scammer did not want what he was selling. The scammer wanted to steal his money. No one will ever come pick it up.

It is best to sell in person face to face with cash.

Please post the email address the scammer used. Did he send the fake Paypal payment?

Hi Bryon, No he did not and there was no email exchanged. My son had only posted his cell phone #. So, there were only texts exchanged.
