Hello guys
I got a new laptop on sat which I dont really need so trying to sell on ebay.

When i first listed it, i got a sale in less than 5mins and asking me to send an invoice to her email which I did. And then I got a fake letter from paypal saying money was sent into my account but would be on hold until I ship the product to her son in nigeria.

Hence I knew it was a scam and alerted http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ which was the advise on ebay's website, so i tried re-listing it again and same thing has just happened.

ITs fustrating, as I need to sell this laptop and wondering why its my account facing such fraud

Please advice and what do i do ?

many thanks

Welcome to Scamwarners bebu,

It will be best for you to read Ebay rules and tips as a seller. Put your item on Ebay. When it sells you will get notification from Ebay. The log into Ebay directly not using any links. Verify you item did sell. Wait for your buyer to Pay PayPal. Do not email the buyer or answer any of their emails.

If you need to communicate with the buyer do it within Ebay's mail system. The transaction has to stay with in Ebay. Do not send an invoice or accept any other money. The buyer needs to go through Ebay then Paypal to complete the purchase. Once done. On Ebay you will find the shipping information. You can also log into Paypal directly and confirm your money is there.

Since you are selling a Laptop. If the price is over a certain amount you will need to mail it signature required. I would also insure it. You have to stay within Ebay rules to have protection.

Ebay also has help forums. They will also assist you.
