It is becoming more common for scammers to reply to adverts by SMS, eg. :http://www.scamwarners.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=54707
+1 (801) 477-4265 - 8014774265 - this number is now being used by a scammer on Craigslist and possibly other places to attempt a fake check scam.
His opening text is generic and quotes directly the advert it targets:

It is highly probable that you would then be asked to send the "mover's fee" via Western Union or some equally anonymous means.
You can be sure that even if the check appears to clear at first, it will subsequently bounce and you will be held liable by the bank.
