it was to good to be true but I and always is this person could of sold car to dealer for 3 times the amount no questions. a lesson for me.

Want to get rid of this guy. Don`t trust him. Want to know if someone else had experience with similar person.

You are in communication with a scammer using a standard script. He asks if you "item" is still for sale which is a standard script that does not change not matter what is being sold. The other big red flag is they are buying the item for a relative as a gift and both parties just happen to be out of the country.
The best thing to do now is to stop all communication by ignoring all emails and telephone calls and he will go away and look for another victim.
