buyer scam through western union - 234 907 806 2719

hi all, i wanted to sell my old i phone and hence posted the aid on olx, received a wats app mess from american number. the lady wanted me to send the phone to UAE, me being in Kuwait and agreed to transfer money through western union. I think its a kind of scam. Is it ??

+234 907 806 2719 is not an American number, it is a Nigerian mobile phone.

Sell your item in person face to face for cash. No legitimate buyer will by buying on a classifieds site to ship overseas. They could buy a lot cheaper locally.

They will most likely send you a fake email claiming to be from Western Union telling you that the money is on hold until you send them a shipping notification proving that the phone has been sent.

The scammer hopes that the phone is on its way and irretrievable by you, before you realise that you have been scammed.
