Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

Some person or group in China and Taiwan is running fake cheap listings for Shimano and SRAM bicycle parts on ebay.

The listings are usually for full or partial component groupsets, priced at a fraction of their normal retail price.
The seller is always a different, recently-created account with no prior sales or feedback. The usernames are long strings of characters like hgw657085576145_3.

Several bicycle web sites and groups have discussed this problem for years. Typically the buyer gets a thank-you message after the sale saying the shipping will take several weeks, but then the parts never arrive. Sometimes there's even a tracking number associated with the purchase, but the parts still never arrive.

I've reported dozens of these listings over the past couple of years, but Ebay seems powerless (or uninterested) to stop them. Usually buyers can get a refund if they apply quickly enough, which means that it's ebay that ends up paying for the fraud.

A current example is here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Ultegra-R8000-11S-8pcs-Group-Set-50-34T-170mm-11-32T/112669992032?hash=item1a3ba7a460:g:XCgAAOSwTQtaI8uG
