i had a similar encounter i posted an item up for sale and a buyer responded to me and he agreed to pay over paypal. however i started receiving emails from the so called paypal which looked extremely fraudulent.
however when i flagged my concerns i was bombarded with more emails assuring me that the buyer was real and it was safe. i was also noticing many errors in the emails.
i received this last email after i told both the "buyer" and the fake paypal email to cancel the transaction as i didn't believe them to be real and i thought i was being scammed.
since then i have contacted both the fake buyer to tell him to cancel the transaction and tell him that i was aware that it was a scam and that i would contact paypal to inform them of this, i haven't received any emails from him since. i also emailed the fake paypal account and also told them that there "client" could easily follow steps to cancel the transaction after i was told this wasn't possible, i also haven't had an email back. i found this forum and wanted to let others know that this is happening and give the names so that nobody else gets scammed.
