Hello,

I recently posted an AD on Craigslist about a Gaming Computer im trying to sale. I have gotten a few replies, but, most of them are asking for my Address and Name for a "a Certified Check." Recently I got a email that goes as follow:

Scam/buyer:
Hi,
I saw your mini itx computer on CL and have interest.
Frankly I find offers to be a time waste on both sides.
What is the absolute lowest "cash in hand" right now price you would take for it?
Please let me know.
Thanks, J

Me:
Thank you for your interest, Ill go back and add a price to the page (800)

Scam/buyer:
Thanks for quick respond....Well let's do like this, actually now I'm
not in town for now, I came to visit my Family so i wont be able to
meet with you but am okay with the price as seen on the advert, I'll
proceed in issuing a Certified Check out to you and when you received
the check , I will make arrangement for pick-up. So get back to me
with below details asap.

Full Name :
Address :
City :
State :
Postal Code :
Cell Phone Number :
Your asking price :

And as soon as this is provided, the payment will mail out via Usps
Priority mail or UPS to you and i will let you know when its mailed
out. I need you to be honest with the sale and also i want you to
consider the item sold to me,kindly remove the advert from the site
because am highly interested in it okay. Awaiting details from you

God Bless.

I'm sure its a Scam, from what I been reading around here, and on Craigslist. His email seems alright, but, cant really say if its a scam. He replies from a gmail.

Hello thesonicblader,
The email is from an African scammer that wants to send you a bogus check for more than the asking price. he will then ask you to send the "over payment " via Western Union or Money Gram.

Just ignore him and move on. Follow the CL guidelines by dealing directly with the buyer and cash only transactions.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon
