Ok, first time posting here, so be gentle if I do something not quite as is expected...

Selling some instruments on CraigsList, got a text from 856-213-2969 that said: "Is your Music Instrs still available? Get back to me @ [email protected]"

I sent an email reply saying they were, but that he didn't specify which instrument he meant.

Got a reply back from that same email tagged with the name Daniel Smith that said:
"Thanks for the response, I am ready to make instant purchase. My mode
of payment would be in Cashier Check via UPS or FedEx 1-2 days
delivery. I'll arrange for a local pick up as soon as you get the
check cashed and have your money in hand , I would have loved to come
by but due to my work frame that might not be possible. I promise
everything will go smoothly. Kindly get back to me with your full
name and address including your cell and land number so i can make out
payment .

Name to be on the check
Address
State
City
Zip Code
Cell#
Last Asking Price

And as soon as this is provided, the payment will be sent out to you
and i will let you know when its mailed out. Thanks and i hope we
handle this in good faith while waiting to hear from you. i will add
an additional $40 so that you can hold it for me till the check reach
you
"

I did go ahead and reply but stated I thought his post looked fraudulent and that I would get back to him if the item didn't sell. Have had no response yet. Will update if I do get one.

Just beware.

Hello, I was just wondering if you ever heard back from this person. I also received the same email for my bracelets. Same number and everything. Please let me know.

It is a scam - they want to send a fake check, have you deposit it, keep your money and send them the overpayment. It's best to cut off all contact with them.
