You guys must be smarter than me...I just parted with £12,500 ....and realised only too late what I'd done.
The payment went out of my Barclays account to a UK Barclays Account...in the name of B Kolar..all run through a very convincing Armor Payments process including an active chat line..
The ad was for a Toyota Land Cruiser and but cheap but not ridiculously so...the 'lady' on the other end was Justine Anne Mcnair - who I now see features in your posts.
And yes the whole transaction was with Armor Payments - who I did check out in advance - but clearly now know well enough were not real - well not the entity I dealt with. I even had some extensive exchanges with their payments chat line...with a lady called Natalie - who was very on the ball and credible.
I had HPI'd the car but not written to the DVLA ...it was clear..
'Justine' used good english and proper grammar and sent me 'her' driving licence...
I spoke with the CEO of Armor who kindly rang me - in his words this is a very sophisticated scam - for those of us with too little time to dig deep enough I am sure they have caught a few people...otherwise they would not be building such a sophisticated model..as some one said even the 'Gurkha' link worked - in my case the car was located at their barracks in Folkstone and 'Justine' was indeed a training officer based in Kabul...it all seemed to complex to be unreal...ha ha!
If I had dug deeper I guess I would have eventually picked up this website...shame
I have been in touch with Barclays (who I know very well) and with the police..
If in some way this post helps shut this scam down - that would be great...
