Yes, this is a scam. Barclays will not hold funds or act as an escrow service.

then, they followed by this email too. i am really afraid to proceed with this kind of party in my business. hopefully someone can share with me any other tips to detect a scammer like this.

There seemed to be a 2nd email address in the first letter you posted that did not show up, maybe it was a picture in the email so it didn't copy. What was the other email address?

The scammer is stupider than mud

The FBI doesn't approve banks, and why would they approve a UK bank ?

The writing style is West African. No one in a British bank who communicates with the public would write like that.
