Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

I have a roll top desk listed on CL and have received 2 confirmed scam "want to purchase" responses.

I believe I have received another...

**Phone number from: 1410100002

Exact text message:

FRM:sterling carol
MSG:Has your furniture been previously owned by anyone? Let me know at
[email protected]

Red flags:

My ad states clearly that I purchased the desk new in Germany in the early 90's.
The other text messages I received were similar in writing style and asking to
respond back via email.

I did an online search and didn't come with anything for the name or email, but the number listed came up all over...

Thoughts??
Thanks,
Lori

(At this point I have not even responded and am considering just taking my listing off CL...)

Scammers will message hundreds of listings in one category on craigslist. They have to make the message generic to attract all possible victims. This scammer did not identify your desk.

Do not put your phone number or email address in the listing. Keep all communication within CL mail system. Scammers want you off the mail system because they take a chance of getting their account closed.

Has your furniture been previously owned by anyone?
