and the seller vanished, never heard from him. I gave him the front and the back of the card and when i checked on the site he made a purchase from amazon.com with the card # i gave him. Vanilla customer support has been horrible is there anyway I can have them track him down? If he ordered something he had to put an address no?

It's not a large sum of money, but it's the principal, thank you.

Hello linenoise and welcome to Scamwarners,
As you have already discovered, giving a stranger the information on a Vanilla card is the equivalent of handing a stranger cash. If this person did order something from Amazon using the gift card he most likely used a false name and the address of another victim.
Any contact information given to you was also probably false so he could hide while stealing your money.

It is ALWAYS a scam
If the pet seller or shipper asks for money to be sent via Western Union, Money Gram, any brand of gift card. Walmart To Walmart , Zelle , PayPal friends and family option, or mentions Cameroon

Is there any way I can convince vanilla to track down the so called false address? I want to try something. Amazon doesn't have a store front so if he had something shipped I would think it's someone he knows, anyone else ever had an issue with vanilla? thx
