It's very likely that this is how most scams operate on ad sites, but not all, as it seems that one large and loosely organised gang operate the majority of all ad scams.
I must concede that Autotrader UK remove them promptly but they are posted in very large numbers and, anyone looking for a bargain, risks being snared by one. I post the exchange between myself and the scammer to demonstrate the major identifying features of the scam to help potential victims recognise when they are being scammed.
Because the same photos are hacked into different dealers' accounts by scammers, even on the same day, I cannot be sure that this was the advert to which I was responding, but that really doesn't matter.
