Hi and welcome, YellowBrick. You are wise to be skeptical.

First of all, it is a sub-domain ( you can tell because there are 2 dots in between the // and com/ . I've done enough research on this particular sub domain to find out it is a free website. Free websites are always highly suspect.

2nd - There is absolutely zero contact information about this "company" on their pages. I don't know how you got the information that they are located in the US, but they do not advertise it anywhere. This means you need to realize you are talking to a used car salesman type of person. If you have an email from this "Company" telling you such a statement, please post it along with the complete headers of that email, so we can look into it further. If you don't know how to reveal complete headers, see the link at the bottom of my post. And don't post your personal information from the complete headers.

also, here is a link to the MO Secretary of State's website. You can do a search to see if they are a valid business or not. https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/csearch.asp

3rd - Scammers bait their victims with outrageously discounted ( or free) products. There is a reason new items ( especially electronics) hover near the same price for most retailers. In short its because they can't make any money selling them for less. Big Box stores can sell for less due to volume, that is the crux of it.

Ergo, $85 brand new iPhones just do not exist in the real world, and likely none of the products on their page, either.

This tweet alone would be enough to red-flag it:

Metro Shop Gaming ™ ‏@MetroShopGaming Jul 10

Attention customers! It is urgent that you DM us before buying from the site.

That is the typical for scams.

Also, the photo that they've posted as "this is one of the Xbox Ones we sold" is a joke - that's not a box, it's an envelope and the photo is badly fixed. I would stay far away from this one.

We've all ready told you what we think of them. Greed is the reason ( bait) they offer to people that want a good deal so badly it over rides their sense of reason.

Have you read the link I gave you about fake websites at all???

see this site for more information: http://www.topmassachusettsdeals.com/wi ... rizes.html

Leave it be. Go somewhere else. Your chances of being scammed by that place are far greater than your chances of receiving a legitimate product are.

Damn, they've deleted their messages - probably being intimidated by Metro Shop Gaming

For the record, the site that the OP came here to ask about is http://metroshopgaming.tictail.com through a twitter conversation with https://twitter.com/MetroShopGaming

I'm currently trying to report the account to the folks at Twitter. Problem is that there seems to be no way to file a descriptive report, which is important so I can explain why that Tweet account is phony. I'll update here if I manage to get in contact with someone.

hi and welcome, shmuckers. I know it seems like the right thing to do is to report it. But please don't. It will only take the scammers minutes to change their details, then anyone doing a search for their names won't find it if they have new names.

Please see this article for more information on the subject :

Hi, thanks for the reply. I'm aware of that point, I'm just concerned because that Twitter account has over 1,000 followers. At least if they close down they have to regain all those followers, which could take a vast amount of time.

If the scammer makes a new account and one person get scammed because there is no warning online. Then it is one to many that has been scammed.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

a "follower" does not have to = a real person. It does not even have to = a customer. it only ='s an email address and a handle.

In fact, I'd bet that close to, if not 900 out of those 1000 are made up personalities from themselves, or other scammer buddies of theirs. It is their attempt at lending credence to their scam.

Understood. For the sake of respect for what you guys do, I will refrain from reporting the account further. Cheers!
