Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

All the email addresses posted here have appeared in fraudulent adverts that are detailed elsewhere on the forum. They appear here so that anyone Googling them can be warned.

Most of the email addresses (but not all) are used in fraudulent adverts where the scammers' email addresses only appear in the photos. In this way the scammers hope to make their adverts less easy to trace by people like me. The downside for the scammers is that the second I see a photo with an inserted email address I know it's a scam without further checking. Also, because there is no other mention of the email address on Google this warning appears top of the list if anyone checks.

This is an example of one of the scammers' doctored photos. Any advert with photos that show an email address like this should be avoided.

I have added the red warning to prevent a scammer using the photo I have posted.

I have just fallen for this scam. I was sent an email saying that if I want to buy a VW Transporter I can as the other buyer has not paid. They sent me a link to Apple Pay as a 3rd Party Secure way of paying and I filled it in. It looks secure with the apple logos etc. The seller invoices applepay, I pay it, Apple Pay keep the money until the Van is delivered and I am happy with it, and then they send the payment to the seller. I looked like an apple page and I filled in the details.

Then I noticed a spelling mistake so I googled her email address [email protected]. It came up with your warning. Thank you so much. Claire says she is from Iceland. If you google her full name there is a person with her name that works for Iceland Food.

I haven't paid any money thankfully, and I am reporting this to http://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report_fraud.

Thank you so much for this information. I really thought this was genuine and I would have paid it.

Welcome to Scamwarners Perky2512.

If just one person is saved from losing money then what we do is enough, though I know full well that the work here done by all members saves a lot more than that.

It's very depressing when we people tell us that they have been victims and have lost money, so it's very encouraging when we hear good news.

I haven't updated this thread in a while, though the information appears in my other rolling thread. I may therefore update both with the information to give it the best possible visibility on Google. Having said that scammer email addresses posted on SW normally appear at the top of Google listings within 24 hours with our warning.

Autotrader UK have also been quite prompt in dealing with fraudulent adverts with to without my reports but I don't currently deal with camper vans and other vehicles. I may expand my work to include other vehicles.

Any time a contact email address appears in a car advert photo it's a scam but this is an example of the latest typeface being used by the scammer on Autotrader UK.

The warning in red has been inserted by me to prevent any scammer using the photos I post.

Thanks to this site I also have saved myself a lot of money and hassle. Scammer email address [email protected] is selling about 30 cars on eBay at the minute and using that email address to be contacted. I questioned it because the cars seemed too cheap to be true so typed his email address into Google and that's where I found this site so thanks very much:-) these scammers need to be stopped

Welcome to Scamwarners Louisec25.

Thanks for taking the time to let us know that our work has saved you from getting scammed by these scumbags. It's why I and all my colleagues here post warnings, give advice, answer queries and spend time getting scams removed from the internet.

You only see a fraction of the work we do and nothing is more satisfying than knowing a person hasn't lost money because of what we do.

Thanks for the lead about their work on eBay. I'll get into it immediately. Though I concentrate on their scams on Autotrader UK, I'm happy to chase them anywhere their scams crop up.

Scammers don't just use this type of scam to steal victims money on vehicle ad sites. This is just one method they use.

I's taken a while for the scammer/hacker to get back to work this year but today I have seen their first set of fake adverts inserted into a dealer's account.
