Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

They are offering a new 3ds (this years model) for $150 Canadian. They said that its factory sealed and that they are selling it at a low price to get rid of it fast. I asked if they have receipt as they said they just bought it and they said they bought it in the USA so no receipt. Thoughts?

Any offer that is cheap and unbelievable. I would run. Scammers will use the ploy of cheap items to attract victims.

Your concerns brought you here. Listen to the red flags. Physically see the item in person in a public place.

Please contacta moferatorstor if you have a question or information about this post.

Please do not tell the scammer he is posted here.

If I see it in person and its sealed, is it legit?

It's a scam, he's never going to meet you in public, because he most likely isn't even in Canada.

Why would a legitimate seller have 3 adverts for 3Ds all using a stock image, rather than an actual image of the item he is selling? And he claims to be in 2 different towns?

Please do not tell scammers that they are listed here - it will take them seconds to change their fake details and their new details will not be listed for any future victims to find.

more info is that he said he bought one for his niece and one for his nephew. Then said hes selling it because they got a ps4. I asked for more pictures and he sent me these. ImageImage

More images that prove nothing - they've been grabbed from another listing somewhere.

His whole story is totally implausable - he recently bought two of them (what about his 3rd advert?) and suddenly they're not needed due to getting a PS4. Add to that the fact that he doesn't have receipt because he bought them in America (does the USA not issue receipts?). Tell him you'll only pay cash in person and you won't hear from him again, unless it is with excuses why he can't do that.

Those Images are from Ebay.
You asked for advice, you were given very good advice, whether you take it, or become a victim, is up to you.
If you still think this is not a scam, as Alan already suggested, tell the seller to meet you in a safe public area to inspect the item, only after you inspect the item should you consider paying anything for it.
