Craigslist, Ebay and other online buying/selling scams.

So, maybe this in an inside job... for [email protected]. I posted a vehicle for sale on AutoTrader at 11:30 am CT on 2/10/2014. I received an confirmation email telling me that my posting will be live in 24 - 48 hours. 5 hours later, I get a text from a 903 number asking for bumper and engine pictures (which were on the ad) and email them to [email protected]. Problem is, my ad has not been posted online yet. A search shows that it hasn't gone live yet. In my Activity Reporting, all categories reflecting number of search results, etc, are all zero. Also, my cell phone number in not posted in the ad, only via the AutoTrader member account. The "only" way to see my number is to click on the button that reveals it. That counter shows zero as well. Either someone inside AutoTrader is the culprit who is trying to steal our money, or is selling the info to someone else who then does this. They apparently got ahead of themselves this time...

Thanks so much for this series of posts. Got text from 301-966-2359 shortly after posting car for sale on Autotrader. "Maria" asked me to email her bumper or engine photos of the car that were already on the AT site to [email protected]. Seemed odd she'd ask for the photos she could already view, so I googled the email address and found this link.

This saved me some hassle. Thanks again.
