What to Do if you Gave you information out

Hi, I've been scanned. WOW! Well, I gave all my personal information, is there anything that I can do to stop them from stealing my idenity? Please let me know something.

I sent a copy of my Passport - last 4 of my social - my address - my job name -

Everyone who initially believes in a scam is likely to send the scammer their personal details, resumé, photographs, and a passport scan. Usually the scammer does not even look at these things - he isn't interested in who you are, he is only interested in whether he can steal money from you. He will have hundreds of passport scans and people's personal details in his inbox, and is very unlikely to take any particular notice of your information.

If you gave him your bank account details, or credit card number, however, please do contact your bank and/or credit card company immediately, as he may be able to use these details to steal from you.

I notice that you have used your email address as your username here - that's not a good idea, as it can be taken by any passing spammers or scammers, or anyone who might otherwise want to make a nuisance of themselves. If you would like to PM me with an alternative username, an anonymous one which you don't use on other forums or websites, then this can be changed for you.

I agree with Chris AND add, I would also talk to the issuer of your passport and SS number provider. There are scammers who do use or sell that information. It sounds like this is your concern.

I would contact the issuers of any information I gave out to get their advice and support. They may flag your information to watch for unusual activity or they may issue you new documents and or account numbers.
