Got an email from Laurie Lambert from [email protected] a few days ago regarding a room posted on Craigslist. Grammar and level of detail seemed a bit off, as well as unusual request for personal information. Glad I did that google search!
The first email I got was the same as the one posted on this thread. I replied to that one, and here's what I got next:
Hello,
Thanks for the swift response. My name is Laurie, 24 years of age, fun-loving, outspoken, friendly, clean, caring and respectful of others, a non-smoker(although I can hangout in a smoky bar so I'm not allergic to it), don't do drugs, drink occasionally and drama free kind of person. I graduated last year from Edinburgh University, Scotland. I am single and have no children, do bible studies on weekends and sometimes Karaoke nights with my roommates. I would love to secure the room for myself before my arrival to the State. I like my roommate or housemate to be very caring and friendly and I promise he/she will enjoy living with me in the house because I'm lively and easy-going. I will be in the States before the end of this month for the next two years as I'll be coming for my Master degree program. I was born in Scotland (UK) and my Dad is from Kahului,Hawaii but they have been living in Scotland for over 27 years.I obtained my bachelor's degree from the University Of Edinburgh and I speak fluent English with a Scottish accent. I have a degree in International Relations and I'm currently visiting a cousin in Kosovo. I'm really interested in renting from you and I hope you consider giving the room to me.
I understand I can't be able to view the place in person so I would prefer some recent pictures of the room (the exterior maybe).I would like you to tell me more about you and also if you have a garage or parking space since I will have my own car. Please let me know the total payment of the place so I can forward your email and information to my Dad since he is the one to be paying the bills. The payment will be drawn from a United States Cashier's Check and I would need the following information from you to have my Dad issue out the payment to you on time.
Full Name :
Address (NO PO BOX) :
City,State,Zip-Code:
Phone Number:
Thanks,
Laurie Lambert
