Frankly, there are virtually zero legitimate rentals posted on Craigslist for vacation in Paris (can't speak to other cities). Of 30 I pinged- ONE was a real person.
Guiakora ([email protected])
Bruno Fabien
Frank Joe
Cesar Romero
were just some of the names used. Most have the same script- A few offer references in the script, but mostly obviously fake names- putting two first names together, etc.
Many would give phone numbers, and bad excuses as to why they weren't French area codes.
A few would provide bogus utility bills and Certificates of Ownership with their names clearly photoshopped in. Addresses would be inconsistent though. And when those addresses are searched, you find other rental apartments (legitimate) on other sites.
They are even taking paypal, so don't be fooled that all scams ask for bank transfer or wire.
