I have also came across this scam. I'm in the process of buying a Doberman poppy from the same person. I contacted Ann in Detroit, and Ann, redirected me to Katherine in Florida. I got the same responce from Katherine. I did not send Katherine any money, because I don't buy any pets sight unseen. I informed Katherine of this. I informed Katherine that I do have a family member who lives in Florida. If she would send me her address, I would send my cousin on my behalf to checkout the poppies, and if she is not in my cousin's county, my cousin will have someone in her county to checkout the poppies for me. I told her that if my cousin come in uniform, don't be alarmed, she is an officer, that is why she is able to have someone in Katherine county to checkout the poppies. After I sent Katherine this email today, I put Katherine's name in Google search, and it brought me to this website. Now that it has been conformed that this is a scam, I'm sure I won't hear back from Katherine.

I received the exact emails previously stated, EXACTLY the same wording. I responded to an ad on Hoobly.com for an Orlando breeder. Since I'm in South Florida I could drive and pick up in person . Immediatetly the first email referred me to another person, just like someone posted here. The other breeder was in Maryland. Said had been a breeder for 30 years. I googled the name and email address and nothing came up. I went to the AKC breeder website to see if she was a registered breeder and no record was found. When I googled golden retriever scams, found this post. Email addresses used are different, but emails are a copy paste of the same mentioned already. Same situation as DRivera and Mike Wilson! This is such a shame.

I went on hobbly.com looking for a Lab puppy in Florida. I emailed from their website and got a response from "JOYCE LAWSON" at [email protected]. All of her puppies are sold but she referred me to her co-breeder friend at [email protected] which is where I found "KENNA ROTHWELL" of Maryland. Basically, she was in a "hurry" to get me to Kenna so I can get one of the few puppies left! She emailed me the exact same questionnaire posted above with adorable pink and blue puppy paw borders. She sent pictures and was easy to work with. I asked her to please call me to discuss and she flew off the handle claiming she is a 62 year old grandmother and practicing Christian that is hearing impaired. She did provide me with the email addresses of her 2 trusted pals (also listed above, Faith and Mrs Rose) who were standing by and immediately answered my email asking for a referral. She granted me the honor of accepting my application to adopt one of her babies only if I pay via MoneyGram and her shipper " " would contact me immediately. I started looking online and found nobody by the name of Kenna Rothwell and the address she gave me was to a home that belongs to Joan A Fox and when I called her phone numbers they are disconnected! I tried calling neighbors for more information and surprisingly stumbled on this website. What a shock to find that they have the exact same emails posted here!!!

Ironically, I had a similar situation last night with a SCOTT RYAN at [email protected]. He was also a senior citizen that was asking me to pay his grandson (of a different last name) MOFAR ACHIRI at 2200 Hillside Avenue, St Paul, MN 55108. When I found his address its actually to a church. That ended that conversation quickly.

Either way, I hope this helps others. Definitely do your research and keep digging. Most importantly, don't use that hobbly website!

Hello and thanks for posting the information on these scammers. If they gave you any contact telephone numbers please post them also as this will help others avoid this scam.

The pet scammers will post ads on any service that is free and the number of fake ads probably out number the legitimate ads in many cases.

They are still at it, mine was with Pug puppies.

I replied to a hoobly ad for A pug breeder and received an email back from [email protected] same thing as everyone else- exact wording and for me to hurry and reach out to co-breeder Kenna Rothwell at [email protected] went back and forth a few times with exact same posted emails below. When I asked for a phone number became upset and said hearing impaired. I then found this info via Google and told her not to reach out to me again. Such liars.
