The fraudsters have targeted households in Fenland and East Cambs and police have constantly warned of the danger of giving out bank details over the phone.
Today’s warrants were carried out across North London in the early hours of today. The warrants were led by the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit and seven addresses were targeted.
Four 18-year-old men and two 19-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation. Money and high value items, such as designer clothes and electrical goods, were seized during the warrants.
“Please also remember that your bank and the police would:
•NEVER ask for your bank account details or PIN number over the phone.
•NEVER ask you to withdraw money and send it to them.
•NEVER ask you to send them your bank cards or any other personal property.”
