Hello All,
Here is header information and emails from a scammer I have been talking to the last several weeks. "Alla" is supposedly a drop-dead gorgeous Moldovan gynecologist. I was fortunate to only lose 75 dollars on a bouquet of roses that I "sent" to her through a link this person provided. All the signs are there--she contacts me, yahoo dating profile deleted, uses the bat!, IP all wonky, develops feelings fast, doesn't answer specific questions, wants to come to the US, and so on. I can also post the bouquet delivery confirmation emails if needed (A side note--the flower site seems to have disappeared). I will also post the pictures once I get that procedure figured out. I am thinking I will continue on with the charade until she asks for money--although it will be real difficult not to let on I know the truth.

yellowsnow, I noticed that the florist required you to enter an email address and password to send the flowers. I hope you did not use the same password that you use for your email account. If you did, please change the password to your email account immediately.

As Julia noted, the dreamflora website asked you to create an account including a password. I also recommend that you change passwords for any accounts where you have used that same password.
Additionally, I have taken a look at the site and the page on which you create an account is NOT secure. I did not register but assume that the checkout page may also not be secure. I can not say for certain without further research but that site may be fraudulent and used to steal your information.

I assume you paid with a credit card and suggest you contact your credit card company immediately. Please also read this information on what to do if your information is in the hands of a scammer: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/microsites/idtheft/

A few of my reasons for suspecting the site to be fraudulent are 1) that the scammer referred you to it specificially:

2) the previously mentioned unsecured page and 3) the whois/DNS record shows that it was just created in Feb of this year and the registrant information looks very suspicious http://whois.domaintools.com/dreamflora.com

I will investigate this further and if it is fraudulent, report it. Please do post the delivery confirmation emails from this company, including headers.

So, should I send this person a fake moneygram number to see what happens or should I quietly fade away?--after a letter with at least a few snide comments of course.

Yeah, I just got the same letter and text again myself. Strange, because I told her I was aware of her antics (sorry guys, I didn't know I wasn't supposed to let on) as well as her relation to other species of animals, but she acts like everything is just hunky dory!
As far as responding Yellowsnow, it probably isn't even a girl were dealing with and you don't want to lower yourself to her (his/it's) level. Chalk it up as a learning experience and move on. To be perfectly honest, this is the 5th or 6th scammer I've dealt with and she was by far the best. Actually had me believing her and I know better.
