The first contact was made through Yahoo Personals. At first, her profile was still in the “Under Review” status. Within a couple days, it said it was deleted by the user. It said Nadya was from Brownsville which I mistook for Brownsville, MI since I am from Michigan.
A few e-mails later she told me she was from Krasnogorskoye, Russia. This was also false since a search of the IP address she was using was found in Yoshkar Ola, Russia. The IP address changed every couple e-mails which meant she was performing this illegal activity from several computers, possibly internet cafes or even re-routing IP addresses if she is skilled at computers.
I should have realized something was wrong because her profile was deleted, she was not from Brownsville, and she almost never answered my questions. I originally figured it was the language barrier. I ignored the signs for several reasons. I wanted it to be true and the letters were so detailed including pictures of her with her family. She sent a letter every single day for 12 days that always included at least 2 pictures. I admit, she had me fooled and I was falling for her. However, when she was so conveniently granted holiday in a couple weeks and needed money to visit me, her new love of less than 2 weeks I was suspicious and did some internet investigating. I told her I could not afford the money right now and that was the last letter she sent for two days. Once I told her I could get the money, she miraculously started writing again. I am still in contact with her as of Oct 8, 2009. It won't be much longer because my check was due today so she is expecting it soon. I am making her wait a few more days as I have to wait 3 days for the check to clear (lol).
From other anti scam forums, I have found the same pictures and letters using the following names and e-mail addresses:

This letter shows the stupidity of scammers. If you notice the date, it is Sunday. Actually when I got this, it was 3:15AM Monday morning in Yoshkar-ola. She said she went to the bank earlier that day. What bank is open on a SUNDAY. How stupid
