If you check this page out...........Fake soldier scam - [email protected]..........the picture of the soldier on this page is the picture of the guy who is chatting to me. It also contains the same documents sent to me

MY STORY -

I am so confused and feel so bloody stupid..............

About three weeks ago, I received a Facebook friend request from a guy who was supposed to be a Medic in the US Army in Iraq. His name on Facebook is HENRY KINGSLEY email [email protected]

The first thing I asked him was “WHY ME? IF YOU ARE WHO YOU SAY YOU ARE, YOU’RE GORGEOUS IF YOUR PROFILE PICTURE IS ANYTHING TO GO BY” I asked him why someone like him who was so good looking and coming up to 40 according to his birthday could want anything to do with an old wrinkly like me who will be 54 this coming October. His answer to that was that he has chatted to younger women before but finds the older woman more mature and know what they want and no messing around.

We have and still do chat on MSN quite alot. He says he is a medic out in Tallil and has been in the army for 4 years now. He joined the army either just before his father died or just after, I can’t remember which and that his mother died a couple of months ago. He told me that before he joined the army he was a doctor in a hospital. I asked what hospital he said the Ridgecrest Regional Hosptial, so while chatting to him I checked to see if this hospital was anywhere near he was supposed to live in Ohio. But I couldn’t find a hospital there. So I asked where abouts it was i couldn’t find it. He said it was before he moved to Ohio it was the Ridgecrest Hospital in California.

I thought if this guy is a fake he has all the answers ready for the questions I’m asking – HOW?

As well as his profile picture when I started asking questions he sent me a couple more pictures but this time to my police email address. Oh yes, I forgot to mention I am a Police Officer in the London Metropolitan Police Service. Anyway he sent me two more pictures of himself, one of which he is relaxing in a hot tub he says is at his home and the other of him in full battle uniform.

I still didn’t beliteve who he was but a small part of me thought, how would he be able to get these pictures of himself if he wasn’t who he said he was.

Anyway after a couple fo days chatting he said he would love to hear my voice but couldn’t call me as he had lost his cellphone and asked if I could get him one and send it out to him. I was tempted until he told me where he wanted it sent to.....so he didn’t get his phone.

No more was said about that – we chatted again for a few more days then he said he wanted to meet me and the only way this could happen was by me emailing THE GENERAL and gave me an email address to write to

[email protected]

He told me that I was to ask for special leave so he could come to the UK to help me arrange our wedding. “But we are not getting married” I said to him. He said that by saying this it would guarantee his leave for him. I thought what the heck so emailed this so called GENERAL.

This is the reply I received....

Attached to this was a form for me to fill out (sorry don’t know how to upload it). This was a money back guarantee form that I was supposed to fill out saying I would agree to paying some money for the safe journey of my soldier man out of Iraq and that once he wa out of the country safe, my money would be returned.

I thought to myself Ok I can play along with this, they are not asking for a bank account number or credit card number etc. So I filled out this form and sent it back to “THE GENERAL”. I then recieved an email back again to my police email account as I sent the form back to them from that account. There was yet another form attached to this email asking me to send $1300 for the safe journey of my soldier man.

I put a couple of posts up on the US Army websites and they sent me a couple of links. I thought I would check the links out, and when i opened them up my heart was in my mouth whose picture do I see with the words “SCAM” plastered across it but this guy Henry Kinglsey. Along with pictures of the documents I received again with the words “SCAM” across the documents.

I sent an email back to the so called “GENERAL” with the following – please excuse the language!!!

GO FUCK YOURSELF - THIS IS A SCAM AND YOU AIN'T GETTING A PENNY FROM ME

To which I then got a reply back saying...

Dear Ma,
This is not a scam, you are just trying to help your soldier man out of the war zone to meet you and we need to follow the normal protocol of the military. The money will be refunded back to you as soon as your soldier man arrives his destination.please bear with us.

I again mentioned this to Henry (if that’s what his name is) and he again said that if I didn’t trust him then there was no point in us talking anymore.

Anyway, we have been chatting quite a few days now and he hasn’t mentioned any money, any phone or any leave to come and see me.

We were chatting on MSN on Wednesday just gone (3rd Aug) and he asked me if I had checked my personal emails. I told him I hadn’t and he told me to check as he had sent me another picture and as soon as I got home I checked my emails and there it was yet another picture of the same bloke sitting at a bar with a beer in his hand.

In one of the pictures there is a tattoo at the top of his right arm not easily recognisable, I asked him what the tattoo was of and he said it was an Eagles head, which on a closer look did actually look something like an Eagles head.

Is man is so playing with my mind, we were talking last night (thurs 4th) when he said he had to run as a fight had broken out in thr bar. When he came back he appeared to be quite distressed and upset. When I asked what the matter was he stated that some Taliban had managed to get hold of US Army uniforms and had got in to the bar, a fight started and a lot of US soldiers were injured two were actually killed.

If this guy is not for real then how can they play with peoples minds the way they do. .

I amstill chatting to him, I thought what the heck I can lead him on just as much as he is me and if he thinks he is going to get a penny out of me he has another thing coming.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

It's all a typical military scam The various people don't exist, they are the same scammer pretending to be different people. Soldiers can't just go on leave because someone asks. They do a tour for x months and that's it. There are no fees to pay for leave. I question too, someone approaching 40 joining any Army, the army takes young men around the age of 20. Did the death of the 2 soldiers make the newspapers ? Of course not because it didn't happen. Army Generals are not employed arranging leave. Doctors are Officers and not Sergeants.
The leave situation is not so different for soldiers here in the UK also.
The scammer has asked for money with the payment of a fee
you are going to remit some amount of money to our finance department in the States.

Thank you Goldikova. At least you know you were dealing with a scammer scum in Nigeria. The only truth is that this person is in Nigeria and all the rest is sheer lies. This person has been nowhere. You did the right thing by severing communication for good. It enables you to close the matter for good. Don't feel in anyway bad over it. What you say here is a warning about how far these criminals will go to steal money.
