I asked for pics of his character.. teeny though.. ugh..

I think I broke him though.. too many spelling mistakes and fishiness. first leaving Italy to go to West Africa (to sell computers, feh) then making leave with his 'diplomacy' to meet me up in Sweden.. claiming that he could cash out his cheque from Africa in a swedish bank.. of which I told him politely that in order to do that he would have to have a bank account in si and so bank before he could even try cash out a foreign cheque, either that or he would have to wait a few odd week or two before the bank would accept anything. Either way, he did a few mistakes on the IM, and in the end he gave up, this time begging me for money... which I bluntly refused.

Sccammers will normally use stolen pictures, yes, I know, I have told you nothing new, but often the good sets of pictures only come in the small format, its actually a good giveaway that it's a scammer so we dont complain to them about it, if it were a normal real person the pictures would be full size of course

Check it out! The above uses the EXACT SAME WORDING to describe himself, and the same general idea to intice!! Jack Doyle is his professed name. Supposedly flew to North Africa to work for the UK government installing computers in the school system in Kano. After his two week adventure, called to say he had to go to hospital for sore throat, and he had been robbed of everything he took with him, i.e. luggage, computer, etc. He had his passport and his paycheck (how convenient). He asked for money to book a plane ticket to the US. I refused, my red flags immediately going up!

Very glad to hear the red flags went up before losing any money, there are many more out there just like him i am affraid, basic search skills will find them in most cases but if you are not sure, feel free to ask.

While the scammer you encountered may well be the same scammer, it is not necessarily so, scammers often steal each others scripts so it is hard to be sure.

If you have any details not already posted here please add them as that may prevent another person from being scammed, tell your family and friends and be on the lookout yourself, public education and knowledge is our best form of defence
